Tue Feb 16 at 5:30 HCBG Monthly Meeting bat the First Presbyterian Church. The business portion of the meeting will be followed by an interesting program by Dr. David Knauft on "Plant Stories, Delicious, Delightful and Deadly". David's picture and bio are below. He is a very interesting speaker so you are sure to be entertained as you learn.
Professor Emeritus - University of Georgia
Dr. Knauft has had a career as a plant breeder working with peanuts and later with ornamental plants. He has taught many courses in genetics and breeding, research design, plant production, research ethics, and service learning. He has been an administrator at the departmental, college, and university levels. He is rehired part-time and currently teaches Project FOCUS Service Learning (http://focus.uga.edu), as well as seminars on organic gardening and on research ethics. He is the faculty coordinator for the Certificate Program in Organic Agriculture (https://organic.uga.edu/index.html) and coordinates resources for the creation and maintenance of school gardens (http://extension.uga.edu/k12/school-gardens/).
