Butterfly Garden and Pergola: Curator, Carol Boling

There are few things in nature's kingdom like butterflies. As with most things in life, this comes with a price. That price is caterpillars.

Destructive little "eating machines", and not much else. Competition for our own food supply is not tolerated well by farmers and gardeners alike. Planting attractive bright "nectar" flowers should attract the butterflies while dill, parsley and other "caterpillar food" will give the future fliers energy. An area protected from wind with some shade and a few places to hide should encourage frequent visits from these brilliant creatures.
